Genre: What is current affairs?
A current affairs magazine is a genre of magazine which puts focus and emphasis on discussion surrounding recent and relevant news stories, and general ongoing events that are significant at the time. These are different from regular news which put emphasis on getting the news out as soon as possible, as they specialise in the in-depth discussion and analysis.
The following are some examples of current affairs magazines:
Current Affairs, The Week, The Spectator, Private Eye, Prospect, Positive News,
News Statesman.
Do all current affairs magazines have the same tone and approach in their journalism?
